Why We Love Orinda Real Estate
Welcome to the city of Orinda. Real estate here is worth looking at especially if you are in the market for semi-rural living within 20 minutes of downtown San Francisco. Team Rothenberg, husband and wife realtors who have lived and worked in the area for over twenty years would be happy to show you the best of what is available in Orinda.
History of Orinda
In the late 19th century, the land was named by Alice Marsh Cameron in honor of the poet Katherine Philips, who was also known as the ‘Matchless Orinda”. Orinda was incorporated as a City in 1985, and has a well-managed, stable municipal government and a population of about 17,600. Orinda is a family-oriented community with a semi-rural setting, in contrast to the more urban flavor of the surrounding area. Featuring the tree-studded hillsides, the 12.8 square-mile City has great natural beauty, Orinda still reflects its origins.
Outdoor activities in Orinda
Orinda’s many parks and trails make it a destination for many Bay Area hikers and naturalists. Orinda real estate is a good investment since the area offers excellent schools, safety, history, culture and close proximity to major San Francisco Bay locations. Natural beauty and activities make Orinda a delightful place in which to work, live, visit and play! With access to the serenity and inspiration of nature; outdoor spaces to play and exercise; facilities for self-directed and organized recreation there is no lack of outdoor parks and recreation. Team Rothenberg has many fine pieces of Orinda real estate available to show prospective buyers who love the outdoors, but need to be close to the commercial centers in the Bay Area
Orinda offers a small town semi-rural environment
When you purchase Orinda real estate you are not only getting a house and land, you are also buying in to a community. The local government is committed to preserving and enhancing Orinda’s unique small town character with the input of the community. Public input is the cornerstone upon which a successful community is built; maintaining a positive small town feel is of ultimate importance including positive alternatives for youth and activities that facilitate social connections, human development, the arts, and lifelong learning.
Orinda real estate is conveniently located
Less than an hour to San Francisco international airport by BART, Orinda is also convenient to Oakland and Walnut Creek. This means you and your family can live in this highly desirable area with great schools, parks, and community activities, yet still easily commute into San Francisco and other commercial centers for high paying jobs. So let Team Rothenberg show you some of the many reasons for considering Orinda real estate
